The DS89C420 ultra high-speed microcontroller has a maximum clock speed of 50 MHz at 50 million instructions per second. It has three programming modes: The in-system mode allows the on-chip boot loader to open the flash memory to access through the serial port; the in-application mode allows the on-chip memory management unit to alternate memory blocks; and it supports standard Flash or EPROM programmers.
