MediaOne has completed an extension of its Los Angeles network to Park LaBrea, a 4200-unit apartment community with 10,000 residents.

Tenants can sign up to receive digital telephone service with a large menu of features-including voice mail, caller ID and anonymous call rejection-for $39.95 a month, or $59.95 for two lines. They can also receive Internet service for $39.95 a month and various channel packages of cable TV for $30 to $60 a month.

"A lot of these people work in Hollywood," said a MediaOne spokeswoman. "They want a taste of the entire cable world, so they tend to go for all the channels."

Meanwhile, Cox Communications has completed the HFC network for a new planned community in Virginia that will, on completion in 2023, number 12,000 citizens. Residents of Stonehouse, just north of Williamsburg, Va., will be able to receive digital voice, digital and analog video and Cox @Home Internet service over HFC.

"Residents will have their own community intranet provided by Cox and available only to them," said a project spokeswoman.
