WIRELESS WITH NO LICENSE

With the Internet and unlicensed wireless technologies proliferating across the globe, it will only be a matter of time before the two merge into one. That time may come in the next six years, according to Pioneer Consulting. Pioneer's new study, “Wireless Internet Over Unlicensed Spectrum,” projects that about one-tenth of all Internet users will access their data over some form of wireless technology over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The firm also predicts that more than a quarter of all laptop users will have a wireless air card. Such emerging technology could spell big bucks for carriers and other businesses that get in on the trend.
