Florida carrier gets slammed

The FCC has fined Business Discount Plan, a Long Beach, Calif.-based carrier, $2.4 million for slamming. According to the FCC, the company switched 30 customers to its long-distance service without their consent. Business Discount Plan also misrepresented itself as being affiliated with other carriers and a consolidator of local and long-distance bills. The company denies the accusations.
