FCC WON'T REGULATE

A national policy is needed to oversee broadband deployment, but the FCC won't force cable operators to open their lines to competing ISPs unless market forces fail and cable becomes the dominant means of Internet access, said the FCC Cable Services Bureau in a recent report. The report found that cable modems have helped DSL and other advanced technologies.
