FCC launches inquiry

The FCC will study high-speed Internet services provided over cable, wireline and other platforms, but speedy action isn't likely. Conflicting court rulings and the pending AOL/Time Warner merger have caused disputes over whether and how cable operators should open their high-speed networks to unaffiliated ISPs.
