FCC FINES, CITES CARRIERS

The FCC has ordered ConQuest Operator Services Corp. to forfeit $70,033 for its failure to make required payments to the federal universal service fund. Separately, the FCC issued citations to five carriers in California, Texas and Washington for violating telemarketing rules. The companies allegedly sent unsolicited advertisements to consumers' fax machines. Subsequent violations may result in fines of up to $11,000 per violation.
