EU OK's VODAFONE MERGER
The European Commission approved Vodafone AirTouch's $180 billion takeover of Mannesmann on the condition that the combined company divest Orange, the British mobile phone unit owned by the German operator. Vodafone AirTouch also agreed to give competitors access to its integrated network for three years.
