GTE tightens ATM security As carriers strive for service differentiation, GTE announced security enhancements to its asynchronous transfer mode services that will enable customers to encrypt their ATM traffic over a virtual private network. GTE, of Irving, Texas, and Cylink Corp., of Sunnyvale, Calif., developed InfoGuard 100, a technology that encrypts ATM traffic at 45 Mb/s. InfoGuard 100 services will be available in all 14 states where GTE offers ATM service.

Network Health will let Ameritech customers monitor their frame relay usage, volume and network errors by running a series of reports.
