COMPETITION WANTS CLARIFICATION
AT&T, MCI WorldCom, Sprint and 21st Century Telecom asked the Illinois Commerce Commission to reconsider and clarify its Sept. 23 order approving SBC's acquisition of Ameritech. Concerns include removing ambiguity about Ameritech providing the UNE platform; preventing Ameritech from using TELRIC to delay the pricing of network elements; and ordering SBC/Ameritech to import arbitrated interconnection provisions from other states.
