Cingular returns to the AT&T fold

Three years ago, Cingular quashed the AT&T Wireless brand, incorporating the former carrier's customers and assets under its own brand. Now, just as the last vestiges of the AT&T network disappear, Cingular is bringing back the AT&T brand to reflect its new corporate parentage. The transition started last week with TV spots advertising Cingular as the “new AT&T,” featuring jets, cars and grain combines transforming Cingular's bars into the AT&T globe. Over the next year, the company will begin to gradually push the AT&T brand to the forefront at Cingular's stores, on its vehicles and on its Web site.
