Carriers told to pay up

In separate actions, the FCC ordered two carriers to pay $727,000 in forfeitures for telephone-related violations. In one case, Vista Services of Westlake, Ohio, was fined $680,000 for slamming 14 customers nationwide. Tri-Star Marketing must pay $47,000 for sending eight unsolicited advertisements to fax machines, a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
