The $171 million cash and stock deal was announced last September, and brings together two companies that have been significant players in the independent telco market for broadband deployment. JSI Capital has estimated that the companies do business with 72 percent of the local exchange carriers in the U.S. The companies also claim to have been in on 83 percent of publicly announced vendor selections for broadband stimulus projects.

Following the vote, Calix announced the resignation of Sprout Group managing partner Robert Finzi from its board of directors. He is being replaced by former Occam board member Thomas Pardun, who has been a top executive in the past with U.S. West and other firms.
