The new agreements cover NFL Network, NFL Network HD, NFL RedZone, MLB Network, MLB Network HD, Fox Soccer Plus, Big Ten Network and Big Ten Network HD. That content will join an existing collection of NRTC distribution arrangements that has steadily grown in the last few years. Prior to this announcement, the telco group had added content from channels AMC, IFC and WE last spring.

The appeal of wholesale content packages may continue to increase as access to content and distribution rights are becoming the source of high-profile disputes between content owners and service providers looking to provide the content to their customers. The NRTC also recently launched a new service to help its members with re-transmission consent negotiations as local-level broadcasters and content owners have moved to increase re-transmission prices.

The NRTC has worked closely with wholesale Avail TVN on its TelcoVideo wholesale programming offering, and in fact invested in the merged company as it was being formed by Avail Media and TVN Entertainment.
