Verizon expands WAN optimization offering

“Managed WAN optimization allows a customer to purchase their own devices – through Verizon Business or however – and we will manage the device for them,” Roos said. “We will provide professional services to support that and have an analyst that looks at performance on a quarterly basis and provides information on how they can fine-tune their network. In addition, we help customers keep all their information safe and secure. And the fifth piece is managing devices for them. If they don’t have the internal resources, we can provide a variety of different services to help them manage it.”

The service includes 7X24 monitoring of all devices and incident reports with 15 minutes of any problem.

“With WAN optimization, there is the potential for higher speed and better performance, which may allow centralization of data,” Roos said. “Enterprises can also get a better view of application usage and be able to validate the bandwidth they already have and make sure it is being utilized as appropriate.”
