The SVNO option is particularly aimed at existing service providers, such as CLECs, ISPs and other carriers, that have an existing customer base and want to rapidly add a VoIP service.
“They can get into service quickly, without investing in any equipment,” said Jack Chang, chief operating officer. “We provide the soft client, which can be co-branded or private labeled, and all the tools that let the client leverage the real estate on TelTel’s client to advance e-commerce.”
The move by eBay and Google to add VoIP services to their offerings has helped spark interest in TelTel’s SVNO program, he added.
“There’s a lot in the pipeline--these are very exciting times for us,” Chang said.
TelTel has announced on major Asian customer--Taiwan-based ISP SeedNet--and will soon announce other customers in other markets, including North America, the company indicated.
Like the MVNO concept, TelTel’s SVNO provides the full network support, in this case its Public SIP Telephone Network PsipTN, which it manages, along with SIP termination and origination, Firewall/NAT traversal services, professional services and SIP devices, in addition to the TelTel Softphone.
“They have their own billing systems and we can interface to those systems,” Chang said. “We enable these guys to become VoIP service providers and they can talk to anyone who speaks SIP.”
TelTel has certified about 12 devices to operate on its service, including corded and cordless phones and Wi-Fi devices. The company will also provide full billing system support, if it’s needed.
