2011 Editorial Calendar - Q1 Update
Connected Planet covers the telecom industry every day via news, analysis, blog, commentary, Twitter and more. But we also recognize the need to step back and see the big picture. To that end, Connected Planet is publishing this online editorial calendar to give our readers and the industry a sense of what we’re working on – and a chance to help us out.
Special Topics and Projects
Connected Planet editors focus on a number of special custom projects each quarter, typically bringing together an interactive Web feature, Webcast series and follow-on Smart Guide (please note – these are custom projects dependent on sponsorship support). Look for updates on new efforts throughout the year. For the first quarter:
Network Outsourcing on the Rise
Service providers of all sizes are increasingly passing large portions – if not all – of their network operations to vendor partners. We’ll examine the success stories thus far, detail vendor strategies and shed a light on best practice strategies across network and back-office operations.
The Service Provider Guide to Multi-Screen Video
Quad-play video and TV Everywhere strategies are becoming a reality. How do carriers enable this environment? What are the necessary infrastructure and connectivity components and options both inside and outside of the home? What are the conditional access and rights issues? What will be the role of app stores? All that and more.
Carrier Opportunities in the Smart Grid
The nation’s utility companies are gearing up for the first major overhaul of their network infrastructure in decades – with smart grid networks driving the way. Communications service providers can be a critical partner – if they act now. In partnership with Transmission & Distribution World and the Intelligent Energy Portal.
After a successful Connected Planet 2010-Building the New Telco Network “virtual event,” we will be running two full-blown online shows this year:
•Spring – Focus on Building Broadband Networks
•Fall – Focus on 3G/4G Networks
Connected Planet attends and covers many industry events. Places where you will see us in the first half of 2011 include:
