New Edge announces satellite partner
New Edge today named Spacenet its satellite partner for "Big Foot," filling in one of the few remaining holes in the project’s enormous nationwide footprint.

Spacenet’s Connexstar offers business class satellite broadband services throughout the U.S. and Canada, allowing New Edge to sign up customers and connect remote offices in areas its extensive DSL, frame relay and cable agreements don’t reach. Spacenet has agreed to install the dishes for New Edge customers and maintain the network.
Big Foot’s stated goal is to provide broadband service to every business address in the U.S. Since announcing the project last year, New Edge has signed extensive agreements with DSL providers and cable operators across the country. This is its first deal for broadband satellite services.
