Netifice said it has expanded its agreements with Covad, Cox and MCI Wholesale services and has added New Edge Networks and Time Warner Cable Business services to its list of wholesale providers. While the agreements give Netifice access to hundreds of new central offices and cable facilities, Netifice officials said the agreements were mainly made to provide its customers with a choice of access options in its current markets.

“In order to provide 100% coverage you end up using dozens of different access providers and a handful of different technologies,” said Greg Davis, vice president of product management at Netifice. “The difficult part is getting those technologies and carrier networks to work together. That’s where we excel.”

Netifice uses a Multiprotocol Packet Label Switching network with extensive Tier-1 peering to deliver hybrid on-net and off-met IP VPN services.
