Strung together with wholesale and resale agreements with all four RBOCs and numerous CLECs, Bigfoot has access to almost every single DSL-capable line in the country. MCI already had an agreement in place with New Edge to use its core 800 CO SDSL network, but the new agreement allows MCI to expand into the RBOC’s ADSL networks.

"This allows us to get much deeper into our current markets as well as expand our overall footprint," said Alan Lough, senior manager for Internet dedicated and DSL services in the U.S. "

Lough said MCI plans to use its new reach to go after small offices and retail establishments as well as offer up the new lines to enterprises to connect their teleworkers and extend their VPNs to smaller-sized markets.
