Glowpoint launches streaming services

IP video-conferencing provider Glowpoint is adding managed streaming services to its portfolio of managed video services and plans to launch the new technology around the fourth quarter.

Called Glowpoint Webcasting, the service combines Web-based streaming and content delivery with its IP video-conferencing solution, allowing companies to create on-demand and live Web-casts with its standard video conferencing equipment. Glowpoint, formerly Wire One, operates a global IP backbone dedicated to video conferencing, running both packet and ISDN circuit-based video services.

Glowpoint officials said the new service can be used for a variety of applications, including sales, marketing and corporate communications, investor briefings, press conferences and employee training seminars, all utilizing existing infrastructure.
