Under a licensing agreement with GN Netcom, a maker of hands-free audio gear, Verizon will sell headsets along with other retail items it has branded for use by its DSL and FiOS fiber-to-the-premises customers. Details of the agreement were not announced but GN Netcom will produce and ship the headsets, as well as provide technical and customer support.

“We will enhance our customers' broadband experiences by offering them innovative headsets that are hands-free, convenient and have superb sound quality,” said Andrea Fant-Hobbs, vice president of brand management and media services for Verizon, in a prepared statement. “The headsets are the perfect complement to our services, including online gaming, music, video and other entertainment services. Our relationship with GN Netcom directly supports our commitment to provide our customers richer, deeper, broader communications experiences.”

Verizon already sells wireless network equipment, Web cams, cordless phones, and routers for use by broadband customers.
