Now with 225,000 lines of hosted IP in service, VocalData applications for hosted IP are deployed in residential, enterprise and wholesale telecom markets as well as in cable IP networks.

Globalcom is launching an IP Centrex service for small and medium-sized businesses in the Midwest. It is using VocalData’s application server to add both IP Centrex and Hosted PBX services to its portfolio of circuit switched services.
VocalData has deployed its application server in 14 other networks over the last few months, including Onit Communications, Intellivox Communications, Wercs Communications, ImproComm and True Broadband. In its deployments, VocalData supports major protocols such as SIP, MGCP, SCCP and MiNET.
The company released Version 5 of its application server this week as well. The latest release features enhanced International features with Web portal instructions and voice prompts in five languages and increased SIP support, which it developed through its deployment with NTT Comware.
“People think we don’t support SIP, because we happen to support lots of our customers’ proprietary protocols. But we have the largest SIP deployment for hosted VoIP in the world at NTT with 40,000 lines,” Whittier said.
VocalData and Mitel also expanded their relationship to include sales, co-marketing and joint product testing. The companies will integrate Mitel’s IP phones and SIP phones with VocalData’s application server.
“We have supported their technology for a while; now we are getting more strategic,” Whittier said.
