Based on the company’s Integrated Services Control Point (ISCP) Intelligent Network system, the ISCP Compact is built on a set of modular call processing systems for service logic, service creation, service management, data collection, integration and element management.
The new product supports 2G, 2.5G and 3G environments as well as network standards such as SIP, OSA and CAMEL. It provides service creation and delivery for mobile, fixed wireless, IP and converged networks and supports services such as converged prepaid and mobile virtual private networks. "It targets GSM networks, especially those in need of an entry-level capability," said Robbie Cohen, senior group vice president at Telcordia.
Telcordia’ ISCP System Nodes provide service logic, call processing, data storage and retrieval as well as measure service quality and usage. The SPACE System is used for service creation and management for both XML and Java technologies. It is where the service definition and profile are created and where activation, record management and version control are done.
ISCP Compact also has an Internet Services Gateway that provides Web-based service management for customer care, and a Data and Report System that does data collection and reporting for service quality, including service usage and network utilization measurements.
The Open Services Platform supports Open Service Access for integrating with IP networks over CORBA, Java, SOAP, Parlay and SIP interfaces. And for system management, the ISCP Compact uses Telcordia’s Upgrade and Maintenance and operation Console Server, which acts as an element manager, provides system administration and a centralized point for applying upgrades and patches.
The ISCP Compact is available today, Cohen said, the technology has already been proven. Telcordia’s ISCP has been deployed since 1992 by 16 network operators. The platform has 350 live nodes deployed at over 65 sites and supports over 60 million calls per day worldwide.
