Telcordia’s recently formed Wireless, Cable and Emerging Markets group will add Network Vision and Performance Vision to its Mobile Assurance Portfolio, which already contains Telcordia’s Service Director solution and is part of the company’s new Elementive product line.
The fault and performance management software for radio access networks acquired from DAX, known as the DAX Optima Performance platform, will help Telcordia manage multi-vendor networks using various wireless technologies including CDMA, TDMA, GSM, PCS, iDEN as well as analog. Adding these wireless capabilities will allow Telcordia to offer a solution that provides network assurance capabilities at the core, the backbone and radio portions of an operator’s network from one management system. That system can work in existing network management environments.
The Performance Vision product analyses network quality using real-time performance data and distributes reports engineers can use for forecasting traffic and determining capacity requirements.
Terry Vega, group president of Telcordia’s Wireless, Cable and Emerging Markets division said in a statement that the acquisition marks a key step in extending Telcordia’s open wireless offerings.
