The convergent clearinghouse addresses inter-carrier service management challenges for wireline, wireless and cable TV service providers.
“Service order and provisioning information is increasingly being exchanged across intercarrier boundaries, but legacy systems are very flexible and can’t support the transactions very well,” said Lisa Donnan, vice president of marketing at NeuStar. “There are too many partners carriers have to interface with to continue using in-house processes.”
The convergent clearing house platform includes support for order and provisioning prices such as pre-port validation; inter-carrier communications process; local service requests; access service request; pre-order; line information database; calling name and other processes.
Following the problems that AT&T Wireless and other carriers had with number portability, NeuStar also is launching a service order administration service supporting end-to-end number portability.
“With mobility and portability, a lot needs to happen in these transactions to make sure they are completed,” said Bill Stewart, director of product management at NeuStar.
The clearinghouse also provides support for service assurance, revenue assurance and routing services functions.
