The demonstration was designed to reflect their joint trial implementation at Nextel Communications using Flarion’s Flash-OFDM technology and Amdocs’ Enabler, Partner Relationship Management (PRM) and ClarifyCRM products.
It includes the ability to provide flexible, real-time rating and billing for all voice, data content and commerce services. The solution allows operators to offer bundled voice and data services and roaming between WLAN and wireless broadband environments.
The Nextel trial has been underway in the operator’s Raleigh-Durham, N.C. market since last month. Amdocs also is providing Nextel’s customer care and billing platform.
Flarion’s Flash-OFDM technology was originated in Bell Labs. It also has a RadioRouter base station product that overlays existing networks and an operator’s radio spectrum to provide a seamless routing interface to an operator’s core IP network.
“Our Partner Relationship Management solution continues to evolve, said Malcolm Dunn, vice president of Amdocs’ newly formed business unit focusing on content.
