Sunbelt, based in Allen, Texas, which carriers about a half dozen other vendors’ DSLAMs, will now distribute Pedestal’s Universal Broadband Server. The UBS is a line-powered DSLAM that is currently being used by Cincinnati Bell as well as other IOCs.

"This is a perfect fit for this market," said Terrell Moorer, central region sales director for Sunbelt.

Sunbelt is expected to just be the first of several distribution deals for Pedestal, according to Tom Anderson, director of channel sales for the vendor.

"The sales force they have in place has very close ties with the independent telcos," Anderson said that explains why Sunbelt was the first to strike a deal with Pedestal.
