Version 3.2 of the Myrio IP Video Platform is focused on improving operational efficiencies, but also includes an interactive development kit, which Amino also is using. The kit, targeted at set-top box vendors, includes tools and documentation to support application development in an open IP-based environment.

"To really get this industry going, we’ve worked with set-top box vendors to build applications all the way from metal to the user experience," said Sean Duggan, product line manager for Myrio Interactive and TotalManage, which is the company’s back-office subscriber and content-management application. "Now we’re able to position ourselves more at the application layer."

Amino is using the kit to create interactive services and applications on top of its Java-compliant AmiNET100 set-top, which offers a choice between Myrio’s custom remote control and Amino’s remote control.
