Version 3.3 of the FCP software, along with the new FCP-120 premise-based routing solution and a new remote flow collector, the FCR-85, are all aimed at large enterprises and service providers wanting to put critical applications over the Internet. Additionally, the company is promoting the new line as a way for enterprises and service providers to improve network stability and get a return on investment in two to three months.

The software’s news version, which like previous generations sits on top of a typical routing table, now enables network performance to be tuned for any type of traffic, providing the ability to tailor the network on a per-application basis.

"We’re prioritizing applications, telling the router what the objective is and getting as close to that objective as possible," said Eric Klinker, vice president of engineering for Internap.

All three new solutions come about as the result of Internap’s acquisition of Sockeye Networks and netVmg last year.
