BridgeCom, which will turn up the Santera softswitch/media gateway combination sometime this summer, chose the Plano, Texas-based vendor in part because it could supply all of the legacy services that it currently providers customers using a combination of unbundled network elements and pure resale.

“We’ve actually been working with Santera for two years on getting this deal done,” said Brian Crotty, COO of BridgeCom. “For us, it’s always been about the next product set.” Santera's OneReach customer support team will facilitate BridgeCom's deployment of the architecture in the CLEC’s lower Manhattan switch site. Santera will provide personnel training, database set-up, and network consulting services as part of the deployment.
