NEW HOPE FOR INTEGRATED ACCESS

The downfall of the CLECs seemed to ring the death knell for integrated access devices. After all, competitive carriers were the primary buyers of the bundled services boxes. This time, though, the incumbent carriers and IXCs are the ones doing the buying. Yankee Group analyst Daniel Klein predicted that the overall IAD market will be back to its 2001 high by 2007, driven by sales of lower-end devices being built by Adtran and Vina Technologies.
