Under terms of the agreements, Lucent Worldwide Services will provide Shentel with installation, integration and remote technical support services. Lucent also is providing the carrier with Juniper’s E-series routers and M-Series multi-service edge platform. The carrier, which serves parts of Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, already has deployed Lucent’s Stinger access platform for its basic DSL service.

By combining the two, Shentel will be able to launch IP-based video services including video-on-demand.

Shentel will use the M10i as its core routing platform, pushing all traffic from its data network to the Internet.
