DT, Infineon announce VDSL2 deployment.

Deutsche Telekom is deploying a standards-compliant VDSL2 solution in 10 cities in Germany, offering video over 50 Megabit per second downstream/10 Mb/s upstream networks, according to Infineon Technologies, which provided its VDSL VINAX chip-set.

Infineon announced its VINAX VDSL 2 chip set in May of 2005. It supports all eight standard VDSL 2 profiles and enables data rates of up to 100 Mb/s symmetric over distances of 300 meters and more.

The technology enables the delivery of multiple video streams, including HDTV content.
