Michael Brandofino, CTO of GlowPoint, said the network would capture content in various locations, and then send it to its production offices in either New York or in the field via GlowPoint’s nearest point of presence. GlowPoint's remote event platform also will be installed at the office of Kenneth Starr at Pepperdine University School of Law for his editorial commentary on the upcoming Supreme Court Justice Senate confirmation hearings. GlowPoint also will host footage that broadband users can access through the streaming play and subscription service at CourtTV.com.
“We really giving them a way to capture content,” Brandofino said.
In the case of its remote event platform, the network will be able to remotely control cameras for focus, angle and other attributes without the need for a local operator. The NFL Network is currently using the same set up, Brandofino said.
“This affords them the ability to do that without having any technical people on site,” he said.
