The new Day Pass costs $1.50 for 24-hour access to all Web services on Alltel’s network. Alltel’s Axcess service currently allows customers to get basic information, such as snapshots of news, sports and weather, but to get beyond that teaser information, a customer has to sign up for a data plan or purchase a day pass.

The service is powered by Motricity’s content delivery platform Fuel, which gives Alltel customers access to wallpapers, ringtones and other applications through its partner storefronts.
