The optical equipment vendor expects to incur a charge between $4 million and $7 million for the move. Severance charges will account for no more than $2 million of that sum, the company said. The remainder will be related to consolidating Sycamore’s Moorestown, New Jersey offices—the former headquarters of Eastern Research, the edge router vendor Sycamore acquired last year.

Eastern had about 250 employees at the time of the acquisition.

Following the reduction, Sycamore will employ about 415 people.
